We found out that my husband’s grandmother, affectionately called granny, passed away at 9 pm on 3/23/2024. This woman born at the begining of the Great Depression imparted much wisdom on me and wished me to have 9 children like she did, which I consider a blessing not a curse, unlike most modern women. She was the matriarch of the family. Although her passing was not unexpected due to rapidly failing health, the impact is deeply felt. A gaping hole where her presence resided is felt in this house. Moving forward we pray that peace resides over our family in this difficult time.

Every Christmas Eve the entire family gathered at her house to open presents and eat dinner. Granny sat in “her chair” and was the queen of the house. All gave honor to her and watched her open presents one at a time because we knew any Christmas could be her last. She often made quick witted comments and verbally chastized naughty children. Occassionally, you could find her with a beer in her hand enjoying the evening watching her “shows”.

She will be missed. She will be joining her husband and son Elmer in the afterlife. I am certain a joyous reunion has already occurred in Heaven for them both. We pray you will keep our family in your prayers at this time. Although her passing was not unexpected, she was loved deeply by all who knew her and touched many lives in her time here on earth. Let us pray her legacy continues in the heart of her descendants for decades to come.
